Exploring String.com, the latest no-code automation builder.
Hey everyone,
Welcome back to the Markfive newsletter, where we cover AI automation strategies you can add to your business in a day.
Today we’re going to talk about String.com (crazy domain by the way).
You might have heard of “vibe coding”, which is using AI to build software by giving it instructions in plain english using tools like Replit, Lovable, or Bolt.
String does the exact same thing but for automations. String is a product from Pipedream — which you can think of like Zapier, but it’s more catered towards programmers.
If you’d like a demo of String by their CEO, I’ve linked it below:
My thoughts on the platform
I was able to deploy a couple agents after some trial and error, but I felt I could have accomplished the same task (maybe even in less time) in n8n, which we’ve covered in previous editions.
Maybe I’m just not their target customer though, as I’m comfortable with the more technical parts of n8n and other automation platforms, and String is meant to be completely no-code to start.
So here’s my recommendation to you if you find the current crop of automation tools too intimidating. It doesn’t get simpler than String from a UI/UX perspective. You just tell it what you want and it builds it for you.
So, pick a tool you use everyday like Gmail, HubSpot, etc.
Think of something you do manually on a daily or weekly basis using those tools. Make it something that just feels inefficient or eats up a lot of your time. Then go to String, and describe how you would like it to be automated.
I’d love for you to report back on what you were able to automate. Just reply to this email, I read and respond to every message.
That’s all for today.
Talk soon,
Momin
